Photographer's Note

What called my attention and made me push the release button was the flag in the black sands of Praia Preta (Black Beach) in Ilha Grande.

During the period of military govern in Brazil, it was strictly forbidden to use it for other purposes than "patriotic" ones. Nowadays, as you can see, it´s used in different moments of life. Young women wear it as sarongs and lay on it while at the beach.
