Photographer's Note

In our lodge by the Rio Negro (Black River), around 30km north of Manaus, table is settled for dinner. That evening I decided to stay at the hotel to admire the sky, full of stars. Everyone has gone to chase crocs but me and a lady.

We sat in huge benches near the water and began to chat, looking up at the sky - which was marvelous, btw.
The evening was quiet, only the sounds of the hotel floating in the water and some animals at distance.

Suddenly, a small light began to shine brighter and brighter. No sound of engines and the reflection of the silent light was growing bigger and bigger in the water. In a moment, darkness. I looked up again to the sky and the lights were blinking in all colors. Again darkness. One second later, at distance, the light was coming towards us and the reflection in the water grew bigger again. I stand up, really scared. The lady said it was a small airplane flying low because of radars. Hum, smugglers. Ok, it makes sense, I thought... I did not sleep in my bedroom though. I slept in one of those hammocks.

There were so many shooting stars that night...

Have a great weekend you all! Thanks for passing by.
