Photographer's Note

Detail of stained glass window in the headquarters of Caixa building, Brasília. This represent the Piauí state. The fisherman is reflected in a small mirror of water.

The 24 stained glass windows were created by artist LORENZ HEILMAIR. The artist was born in 1951 in Munich, Germany and in the following year he arrived in Brazil with his whole family. He returned years later to study at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts.

The stained glass windows represent the Brazilian states and tell the story of the life, the people, the culture, the folklore and the economy of each Brazilian region - represented by different symbols and colours.
