Photographer's Note

The pipe organ of the Cathedral of Petropolis is a complex instrument with 33 records over three manual keyboards and a pedal. It has 2,227 pipes, with the largest size 7 meters and the smallest only 29 centimeters. It was designed and built in Rio de Janeiro, with national materials and manpower by the organ builder artist William Berner, introducer of pipe organ's industry in Brazil.

Mounted on steel beams it weighs 9 tons, measuring 8 meter wide by 9 meters tall. The electrical connection between the various parts are made by cables that reach 15 km of yarn. It was first installed in February 1937.

This pipe organ is between the biggest of Latin America.
