"In 1555, frenchman Villegaignon improvised a fortification to defend French Antarctica. Taked by Men de Sá in 1567, this fortification was expeanded into the key point for the defense of the Guanabara Bay. From 1632, it was remodeled with numbered pre-cut stones blocks shipped out from Portugal and completed only in 1870".

Oh this is a very clever photo Christiane. At first glance the wall looks like a heavy black frame. This photo lures you in... and it's certainly not a bad one. Good effort, well constructed.
