Parque Estadual do Ibitipoca, a photo from Minas Gerais, Southeast

Photographer's Note

‘Ibitipoca’ é uma palavra tupi-guarani que significa “Serra que estoura” ou “Serra estourada”, devido à grande incidência de descargas elétricas (raios) ou, também, à grande quantidade de grutas. É um dos parques de minas mais visitados no Estado e um dos mais reconhecidos do Brasil e uma das principais atrações turísticas da região.

Localizado na Serra do Ibitipoca, uma ramificação da Serra da Mantiqueira, o Parque Estadual do Ibitipoca é divisor das águas das bacias dos rios Grande e Paraíba do Sul e possui uma vegetação composta por mata atlântica, pelos campos rupestres em afloramentos rochosos e matas ciliares ao longo dos cursos d’água. Cactos, bromélias, orquídeas, samambaias e liquens são característicos da Serra do Ibitipoca. As candeias existem em abundância, quase sempre cobertas com um líquen esverdeado chamado barba-de-velho.

O Parque possui vários córregos e riachos que formam atrativos como piscinas naturais e cachoeiras. A correnteza forte chega a fazer escavações que formam passagens subterrâneas, como por exemplo, a Ponte de Pedra. As grutas formadas em rochas quarzíticas integram a paisagem do Parque.

A fauna é rica, com a presença de espécies ameaçadas de extinção, como a onça parda, o lobo guará e o primata sauá. Aparecem também o macaco barbado (bugio), o papagaio-do-peito roxo, o coati, o andorinhão-de-coleira falha, entre outros. Dentre os anfíbios, encontra-se uma espécie de perereca que foi identificada pela primeira vez na região, a Hyla ibitipoca.

Interesantan i lep pogled, dobar tekst ...
Lepa reka i litica, dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama, kontartsom, perspektivom i dobrim tekstom.
lepa fotografija i uhvaceni trenutak sa oblacima koji dolaze i najavljuju promenu vremena.

This is a strange and rather fascinating scenery, and the note indicates it's a very interesting area to visit for many reasons. In the lower part of the view the nature has shaped itself like an abstract work of art.

Hello Lucas,
A striking nature photo with the yellow colour of the rocks over which the water flows.
Beautifully presented in the vertical format with the steep cliffs on the opposite side of the river and the mountainous landscape in the background.
This national park offers a number of curiosities according to your note. Also in its fauna.

This photo didn't look great in the small view but in the large view it becomes much sharper and the colours better. A good photo of this rugged area.

Fascinating to see so much vivid detail and colours of the amazing geological formation and bags of impact with feel of depth. Look like a 'chemical war fare of colour' going on!! I like the way you've composed it with sweeping pov right through to distance horizon while the bright sky counter points what's on the ground. How unusual to see this of a truly wonderful nature. Hola Lucas,

This sounds like a very special site of scientific interest, with so many rare plants and animals. Hopefully, they will not be exploited and continue to remain, and multiply there.

The f/g rocks appear to be full of minerals, affecting their colours and, in your photograph, creating a very individual feature as preliminary to the high, dominating cliffs, contrasting in colours and textures, as well as height.

It looks a little like the Carnarvon Gorge Park in Queensland. Good warm vs cold colour contrasts with a nice downward pov and superb sharpness. Tfs!

essa coloração de enxofre no primeiro plano deu um destaque ainda maior à beleza do lugar , com horizontes distantes e essas escarpas em meio à vegetação. imagino que estamos no topo de uma cascata que se despenha dali alguns metros.

Sensacional este paisaje con el lecho de este rio con ese llamativo color amarillo, que contrasta con la abundante vegetacion y el colorido de la pared rocosa a la izquierda.
Muy buen color que aumenta el atractivo de la imagen.
Magnífica gestión de la luminosidad y de la nitidez, para disfrutar con los detalles.

Magnificent tableau and lot of perspective from near field up to the clouds!
The water flow looks as tinted by sulphides from the mountain and it brings nevertheless a nice color addition to your picture.
