Photographer's Note

Localizada na praça central, a igreja permanece inacabada, mas apresenta elementos raros da arquitetura mineira. Os altares laterais da nave são da primeira metade do século XVIII. É considerada um dos principais patrimônios do município. Teve sua construção iniciada em 1729, substituindo a ‘Matriz velha’ por ser ela pequena e não comportar o número de fiéis da comunidade. A igreja é edificada em madeira, taipa e pedra e é de uma simplicidade característica do rococó mineiro. Internamente a igreja é bastante rica em detalhes de talha branca e dourada. É comum notar a ornamentação em madeira crua, pintura branca e pintura definitiva, e isto está relacionado com as três fases distintas de construção, sendo que algumas obras ficaram inacabadas.

Bonjour Lucas,

Très belle petite église qui semble bien seule au sommet de sa colline.Les couleurs sont bien jolies et les deux clochers qui pointent vers le ciel sont bien jolis.

Lepo pokazano mesto i stara arhitektura, dobar kontrast, lepe boje, lepo uhvacen trenutak sa malim oblacima.
Lepa klupa i krst, lepa fasada i detalji. Lepa stara Crkva i zvonici sa krstovima.

o estilo do cume das torres é bem português, mas aqui elas parecem bem mais afiadas e diferentes do comum. linda vista da fachada. gosto muito de arquitetura, e a colonial é uma das minhas preferidas. obrigado por postar esse tesouro.

Well managed backlight with excellent sharpness and well framed and composed. The fg bench adds depth and layering to the composition. Then the obelisk with cross in the midground and finally the cathedral. Tfs!

The church was built high on the hill with a prominent appearence on its surrounding.
You might not have the best light condition possible but well placed the edifice within the frame, good distant POV from the stony bench and up the slope.

Hello Lucas,
The church is attractive and it's beautifully placed on top of the grassy hill. The bench (?) makes a nice foreground, and from this low angle the sky provides a perfect background to the façade, The photo is well exposed and the composition is nicely balanced.

Quase cheguei aí em abril deste ano mas tive que voltar de Ouro Preto depois de perder minha querida irmã. Sou fã destas igrejas mineiras. É nossa história e parte das belezas de Minas. Atrativa composição com estes elementos do jardim em primeiro plano e um belo contraste com o céu.
