Canyon Guartelá, a photo from Parana, South

Photographer's Note

This picture was taken in Guartelá State Park, between Castro and Tibagi cities, Parana State, Brazil.

It's considered the sixth largest canyon in the world, according to the Guiness Book of World Records. It still has most of its native vegetation. The river has 32 kms of extension with heights from 700m and 1200m above sea level. The region of the Canyon Guartelá is formed by an extremely diverse ecosystem and innumerable natural attractions. There are some beautiful waterfalls, unique sandstone formations, deep valleys and "rupestres" (old native paintings on the rocks).
I will try to make a serie showing what could be shot in a one-day trip. I hope you like them!

Note: sorry for not to provide the camera settings but I really don't remember them. I just know that I used aperture priority, f-stop between 9 and 16.

Bonita imagem, acho que uma só é pouco pra mostrar a beleza desse lugar, deve ter acda cahoeira!
Boa imagem, nem parece escaneada, e realmente o polarizador faz a diferença, devia ter ficado com ele, acho que é compatível com as digitais também né?

Olá Carlos,
o local realmente merece mais outras fotos,de outros ângulos, como escreveu o Lucas. O Estado do Paraná tem um relêvo encantador, cheio de contrastes. Vale a pena você nos mostrar.
Conheço o Grand Canyon(Arizona) e alguns do Rio São Francisco, próximos a Paulo Afonso (Bahia). Lindos também!

Very nice landscape! Your composition and POV are outstanding giving us a beautiful view of the valley and surrounding mountains. The lighting and colors are great with nice sharpness and detail.

Hi Carlos,
A deep saturated image wuth high contrast, i like that a lot. Good depth created by that ridge along the right and the deep green trees in the valley on the left...good balance. Very good result for a scan...it looks really good.

This is a minimalist landscape, where nothing hurts the eye, and with nice depth and colors.

Memoria de elefante, Carlos. 4 anos mais tarde e vc ainda se lembra de aperture priority e f/9-16. Acredito que estes detalhes nao sao muito importantes e fico impressionado com a boa qualidade digital que vc alcancou com o scanning. Parece ser muito bom o seu scanner.
A composicao nao esta mal mas me parece que falta a algo. Uma cachoeira (ideia do Lucas), um animal, um arbusto a frente, ou algumas nuvesn interessantes no ceu ... sei la.

Hello Carlos,

This is a fine composition with good diagonal lines!
I also notice this a scanned image and as such of fine quality with good colour reproduction...
A nice view of the wilderness, and the image has a good feeling of depth!
