Photographer's Note

This image shows the river Barigui, in the city of Curitiba, southern Brazil.

It´s a nice place to walk, run, bike, roller, picnic, barbecue, or just to watch animals around the lake and the Barigui River.

Curitiba was founded in 1693 and offers the best quality of life conditions comparing to all the other capitals. It´s a green city.

From 1850 to 1900 many immigrants came from Europe, and some other places, and that people had made the city we live today. So, Curitiba is also the most european capital in Brazil. For example, I have ancestrals from Germany (50%), Austria (12,5%), Ireland (12,5%) and Portuguese (25%). I´m a typical "Curitibano", with a blended blood.

The largest immigration came from: Germany, Italy, Poland, Ukraine, Japan, Syria and Lebanon.
