Photographer's Note

When I was photographed by first time I was in a rural road seated in a Portuguese blanket made of rags that was brought by my mother when she came to Brazil. It was a very ordinary and heavy artwork made in strips of dimmed colors and I remember it even when I was a teen.
In this photo you can see a modern version of those traditional blankets, maybe made with old sheets. In the past nothing was disposable as it is nowadays and in the poor regions of central Portugal there was people who bought rags of clothes and sheets to made these traditional blankets that were transformed in fibers again and used in a traditional loom.
