Probably Brazil will overtake USA and will be the first producer of soybean in the world this year. When I was a little boy this production was located only in the cold parts of my state but Brazilian scientists adapted the plant to very hot places and today you can see soybean plantations in any corner of this country.
Here we can see a plantation that would be harvest in few days. In the evidence a terrace to prevent erosion, ahead we can see a Cedro-Rosa (pink cedar) a native tree of my region whose timber is pink and similar in aspect with timber of ceders, despite the tree isn't a real cedar.

Esse ano o Brasil provavelmente ultrapassará os EUA e será o maior produtor de soja do mundo.
Eu era menino quando as plantações de soja se concentravam apenas nos Campos Gerais, a terra mais fria do estado. Hoje em dia nossos cientistas conseguiram criar variedades de soja que podem ser plantadas em terras muito mais quentes e no Brasil todo.
Na foto vemos um pé de cedro-rosa, que tem esse nome porque a madeira é rosada e se parece com a madeira dos cedros, contudo a árvore não é parente dos cedros.
