Photographer's Note

Typical view of the Brazilian savanna which can be found in the states of Minas Gerais, Goias, Tocantins, Bahia, Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul. The savanna occupies 1.5 million to 2 million square kilometres. The Brazilian savanna is called "cerrado" and is characterized by vast flat extensions covered by a thin layer of turf with occasional gnarled trees. The weather in these regions is warm, very rainy in the summer and dry in the winter.
