Photographer's Note

The anhinga (Anhinga anhinga) resembles the neotropic cormorant, but with whitish wings (in Tupi its name means "white cormorant") and more yellow or orange beak. As the feathers are not waterproof like those of ducks, it usually stands with its wings open to dry after a dive, just like the cormorants do.
