Photographer's Note
One of the most impressive buildings in Brasília is Itamaraty Palace, where government deals with the foreign affairs. The building, created by Niemeyer, is located in front the Big Axis and it is surrounded by a lake, the gardens were created by Burle Marx using only Brazilian plants. The white sculpture is named "The Meteor" and was created by Bruno Giorgi and in my opinion is one of the most beautiful modern sculptures of the world, made in marble.
The building was built between 1960 and 1970 and have a rich interior but I couldn't to visit it because Covid-19 rules. The navy soldiers take care of the safety but during a terrible event in 2013, during Dilma Rousseff government, a group of black-blocks tried to invade the building and vandalized it. It was one of the most sad scenes I saw on TV, but the mariners got avoid the invasion and the fire.

Veja no vídeo abaixo:

Hi Jorge, nice to know that the building was saved from vandals during Dilma's government, but if they protested obviously there was some problem, even if now with Bolsonaro it seems worse to me..eehe..beautiful architecture, essential but surrounded by water that gives a beautiful glance. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hi Jorge,
Brasilia seems like a dream destination for photographers who like modern architecture. I really have to remember it, if I only get rich someday and can afford to travel more, I think I would like to visit this photogenic town.
Great reportage,
