Photographer's Note
As you can see the interior of Brasília Cathedral isn't so big, even the main church of my small town is larger.
It was a Saturday and the church was closed for visitors because a marriage, anyway the cathedral isn't the first choice of brides and grooms, there are another interior of church much more impressive than this in Brasília and much more expensive to celebrate a marriage.
Anyway, because the preparations of the marriage I couldn't to walk inside, I was permitted to stay only in a spot at entrance.
One of the most impressive aspects of this cathedral are the three archangels created in 1970 by Alfredo Ceschiatti with the help of Dante Croce. The smaller angel has 100 KG and the larger 300 KG, as you know they are: Gabriel, Raphael and Michael.
The main altar in marble and the a copy of Pietá sculpture were a gift from Vatican. This triangular column you see in the interior is adorned with tiles of Athos Bulcão, another modernist artist very linked with Brasilia and tells the history of Mary. The original stained glasses were made by hand but were swapped by others made in Germany, created by Marianne Peretti.
You can see the huge ring of concrete in the base, it was created by the engineer Joaquim Cardozo to permit these fragile columns being up. The cross made of BRAZIL-TIMBER and used in the first mass in Brasília is here too.
You can see the flowers of the marriage and the Pietá at left, near the ring.
..............

Hello Jorge,
The exterior of the cathedral is well known from so many photos, but I don't really remember seeing the interior before. It is very interesting and impressive even though the church isn't very large. You were lucky that they allowed you at least to see and photograph this beautiful view. I appreciate that you included the floor with benches and people making preparations for the wedding. The huge glass rood allowed for a good light.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Jorge, you have to admit that the interior is very beautiful, a sense of brightness and wide spaces that cannot be felt in the churches of previous centuries, this post makes me change my mind positively about this architecture, and obviously the angels do they see very well. Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

Hi Jorge,
The length of the nave is creating depth. The point of view is showing the details of the interior of the cathedral. The light has a good effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Jorge,
I'm glad that you were allowed in, even for a brief period, for you have been able to reveal the beauty that is created by the amazing roof and show how it relates to the seating interior!
Yes, I can see the angels!!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Jorge,
We can see the angels but to be honest the structure and design itself is much more impressive and catching the attention. The geometry is extraordinary but I also like the interesting colors of the windows.
In spite of limited flexibility you have captured it perfectly,
M

Hi Jorge,
Translucent ceiling of this modern is just wonderful. Blue, green and white make a nice combination. And this building is surprisingly big. This makes a good combination with the outside view.

Hello Jorge,
A great photo of the interior of the church. The structure looks beautiful, just as the green and blue shapes of the large glass parts. Well captured with well handled clarity and sharpness.

Hello Jorge,
So this is the interior. Odd but it's the first time I see a photo of the inside of the cathedral.
Maybe not huge for a cathedral. But you do get a feeling of a lot of space.
The clear feeling is phenomenal as well.
I really like the result of this design.
Wonderful glass ceiling in blue, green and white!
Best regards, Paul

Hello Jorge, an excellent point of view where the structure and the coloured glass dominate the composition.
A cathedral full of light, and yes I can see the angels.
Excellent sharpness.
Kind regards, Jean.

hello my dearest friend Jorge
yes I can see the interior of Brasilia Cathedral
so different from the interior
of an orthodox church...
I agree with you that one of the most impressive
aspects of this cathedral are the three
archangels created in 197o...
the huge glass rood allowed for a good light

Hi Jorge
great to see the interior, I always want TE members to post the inside as well. I get the feeling when you're sitting in there it would be hard NOT to look up from time to time. it really is quite striking, especially if its bright and sunny outside.
glad you posted this, good one
cheers
