Palace of Justice – Located on the Three Powers Square, at the end of the Ministries Plateau, the Palace of Justice was designed by Oscar Niemeyer. It is the headquarters for the Ministry of Justice.

Guided visits are available to its Black Hall, the Portraits Room, Library and Internal Garden.
Conventional round arches and arcades are evoked in the Itamaraty Palace and the Palace of Justice. However, these are not true arches, as shown by their later replacement by half ogives in the front façade of the latter building. The façade of the Palace of Justice has waterfalls that contrast with its stern geometrical beauty.

Brasilia is a masterpiece of modernist architecture. It is the only city in the world built in the 20th century to be awarded (in 1987) the status of Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. Brasilia is celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2010.
