Red Lake (Laguna Colorada):

The Red Lake is the most important place in the region for the observation of flamingos and is constituted in a unique place of interest for the coloration of it’s waters; it’s surface is approximately 60 km2 and is found at 4.278 meters, the medium depth is 35 cm. And the temperature of it’s water vary between 10 and –10 degrees centigrade.

Red Lake is classified like the "High Andean Saline" Lake which presents islands of borax in the northeast and southeast sections, the color that it presents is red because of the fine sediments of this tonality deposited over the surface and the pigments of some types of algae.
