Photographer's Note

Notorious for itīs death toll, the Death road is one of the most common attraction in La paz and in Bolivia. Locals travel through this dirt and narrow part with buses, but in the recent decade numerous tourists ride it down on advanced mountain bikes. More on this road in the next uploads.

On one of our stops on our way down to the Yungas, I saw the depicted mother and son, all focused on the scene in front of them, oblivious to the commotion of 20 something riders, held a mere 3 meters away, all talking in different languages about one thing - adrenaline rush! This extreme contrast of locas daily life and tourists attraction of a life time was powerfull enough to pick up the camera and capture a mere part of the death road daily routine.
More to come...
