Photographer's Note

The Colón Theater in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Acustically, it is considered one of the five best theaters in the world. The present Colón replaced the original theater, inaugurated in 1857. At that time thousands of Europeans migrated to the capital Argentina, Buenos Aires reached to dispute Status with cities like Paris and London. The current theater was inaugurated on March 25, 1908 with the opera Aida by Giuseppe Verdi, after 20 years of works.

After its period of gigantic success, the decline of the theater became remarkable and plans were made of massive renovation. After the beginning of the changes and renovations in 2005, the theater was closed in October 2006 until May 24, 2010, when the 2010 season was opened.
