Photographer's Note

The bridge is very common element in japanese gardens. I was searching in the japanese mythology and found the word I used as title.

Amenoukihashi is bridge liking the Earth and Heaven. In the Japanese mythology, the firs Gods summoned two deities, the male Izanagi and the female Izanami and ordered them to creat their first homes.
To help them in this task the Gods gave to them a spear covered with jewels, named Amenonuhoko (heaven spear).

The both deities, Izanagi and Izanam were the bridge between Heaven and Earth (Amenoukihashi) and they shook the sea with the Heaven Spear and when the first water drops fallen from the tip of the Spear the Island Onogoro-shima was created. So they came down to the island where they have two child Hiruko and Awashima, but they are imperfect and not considered gods. The deities put their child in a boat that was carried by the waves of Onogoro-shima.

Izanagi and Izanami married again and from this new union borned Ohoyashima, or the eight main islands the form Japan.

The photo was taken at the Buenos Aires Japanese Gardens in Palermo district.
