Photographer's Note
Cerro Torre towers over a dreamscape of ice and snow in the Andes of Patagonia. I used Photoshop to make a black and white conversion of the original color image and added a slight tint of blue in an attempt to evoke a dream-like quality to the image. My first B&W image so any critique, good or bad would be great!
Thanks,
Mike

B&W Michael? It looks more blue to me:))
But it is stunning, crisp and clear, and the blue tone really makes it look cold.

Indeed, Michael, this is a dreamscape.
Very well composed and very good black and white tones.
The light on the top of the mountains is amazingly good.
Perfect!

Hi Michael
very nice image, the bw (even if it is little blueish) works fine, contrasty.
the light on the mountain is great, the foreground ice also.

Hello Michael,
What a stunning view of Cerro Torre. I think the blue-tinged B&W works really well and it does indeed have a very dreamlike quality. I also like the sheen on the water and the way the ice seems to glow. It almost seems to have an infrared feel about it.

Hi Michael, great job... good choice of B&W and the blue tone adds an amazing atmosphere... Good light too. Did you give more softness to the pieces of ice? and what are the white "shadows"on the right? was a post processing? Chau chau,
Maria

I'd say that you managed greatly for your first conversion. The light hint of blue goes very well with this cold image and adds to the dreamy effect. Apart from the sheer beauty of the place, you have a superb light, like on the tops of the mountain, and everywhere by the way, the blocks of ice in the fg manage for a nice DOF, and the contrast is superb. Makes me want to go there straight away, it's on my wishlist. My compliments Michael. - (I am talking about the workshop, more finetuned than the original, although I did find that one already very nice).
TFS, Kind regards

Hi Michael
So beautifull, equilibrate, and choice of B&W give the essential.

Another masterpiece! Glistening ice shards in water, glowing razor sharp peaks, a play of light. Transporting us away... to a blue-gray planet, Jupiter, perhaps, or maybe one not yet discovered, existing only in the imagination of a child.
Thanks again,

Hi Michael.
I like a lot this shot,it's an astonishing landscape and it has a good composition independently of conversion, but with conversion it gives a really dream feeling,I also think is a little better the WS,I find it even more sharp than this one, with more details on give more light.Good shot and good work here Michael.

Sonsoles.

Hi again,
I also couldn't simply pass by this marvelous photo. I am a big fan of winter, snow and ice, and given this wonderful photo with a very interesting color palette, great contrast and yet again a bit surreal look, I can only express my highest form of satisfaction. Great job and thanks for uploading your excellent photos!

Awesome landscape. The deep blue sky works alway in b&w. The mountains are impressive and the floating ice adds foreground interest.
Have you dodged the foreground ice? It has a strange glow.
Congratulations
