Photographer's Note

A continuation from my La Boca Series: Spotted two ladies enjoying the last beam of the sun for that day amidst the cold winter breeze from the port. Was envy of them, as soon as they're gone, I rushed to the same place and enjoyed the heat of the sun as well, a quite picturesque spot though so I had myself a "candid" portrait too. haha

La Boca is located in the city's south-east near its old port. From our place, the bus took about 40 minutes going there. It retains a strong European flavour, with many of its early settlers being from the Italian city of Genoa. In fact the name has a strong assonance with the Genoese neighborhood of Boccadasse.

It is known among sports fans for La Bombonera the home of Boca Juniors, one of the world's best known football clubs. La Boca is a popular destination for tourists visiting Argentina, with its colourful houses and pedestrian street, the Caminito, where tango artists perform and tango-related memorabilia is sold. They also said that it is best to buy souvenir items here cause prices are cheaper.
