Photographer's Note

Just arrived Buenos Aires after a 20-hour bus ride from Iguazu Falls. We then and some of my friends headed to La Boca to visit this fancy and colorful place since our stay in Argentina is fast approaching to an end. It's a good thing we were still in time for the last rays of the sun.

La Boca is located in the city's south-east near its old port. From our place, the bus took about 40 minutes going there. It retains a strong European flavour, with many of its early settlers being from the Italian city of Genoa. In fact the name has a strong assonance with the Genoese neighborhood of Boccadasse.

It is known among sports fans for La Bombonera the home of Boca Juniors, one of the world's best known football clubs. La Boca is a popular destination for tourists visiting Argentina, with its colourful houses and pedestrian street, the Caminito, where tango artists perform and tango-related memorabilia is sold. They also said that it is best to buy souvenir items here cause the prices are cheaper.
