Photographer's Note
The Basilica of the Holy Sacrament (often translated to English as the Basilica of the Blessed Sacrament) was privately funded by Mrs. Mercedes Castellanos de Anchorena. The church was intended as the shrine for the family members.
Its architecture, selection of finishing materials, and details of interior decoration are the combined work of the team of French architects Coulomb and Chauvet, Salesian architect Rev. Fr. Vespignani, and the superior of the local religious community Rev. Fr. Antonio Seignon.
The foundation stone for the church was placed on the 25th of March 1908. Eight years later on the 15th of July 1916, the church was consecrated by Archbishop Mons. Mariano Espinosa. Later, on November 25th of the same year, Pope Benedict XIV established it as a Minor Basilica. Externally (what may be not that easy to see these days), the church structure is marked by five towers – all finished with beautiful domes. Three towers make the frontal facade. The central one – 50 m meters high is decorated with the sculpture showing Saint Peter Julián Eymard, (founder of the Congregation of the Holy Sacrament) and two kneeling angels on his side.

Hello Zbigniew
I have always like this kind of POV. Gives a much grander scale and emphasis. Nice capture.

Hi Zbigniew
I like the way the architecture stands out with its dynamic framing, use of impressive viewpoint to exaggerate the proportions, depth and perspective. A sublime capture,
