Photographer's Note

Please open in a new tab for the better version.
Some of the area out along Wattle Ridge, where my last few photos were taken, were amongst the hardest hit in last year's fires. Usually eucalypts sprout new growth along most the the length of their trunk and main branches but these ones were so badly burnt that regrowth has started from the base of the trees. You'll notice that the new growth on some trees is initially red.
In front of the tree is a burnt out car which may have been a dumped stolen car.
