Photographer's Note
This photo was taken from a moving car while driving to Mt Cook Village. It looks up the Tasman Valley to the glaciated mountains around the Tasman Glacier. On the left is Mt Haidinger, and right of centre are The Minarets. The Tasman Glacier is just visible on the valley floor, but it is covered by boulders and dirt. In the sky are some lenticular clouds that have escaped from Mt Cook (to the left of the photo) are moving over the valley.
Tasman Glacier (and Mt Tasman, Tasmania and the Tasman Sea) are named after the Dutch explorer Abel Tasman. He was the first European to see New Zealand, Tasmania and Fiji in 1642-43, and the first person to circumnavigate Australia (from a distance), and the first person to prove that Australia was a separate continent and that the mythical Great South Land was only half as big as everybody thought.

Hello Vincent
Another terrific view of the Southern Alps of New Zealand's South Island. Good sharpness and the topographical contrast between the flat fg plain and the jagged bg peaks is striking. Tfs!

a beautiful landscape image, well presented and the little clouds floating above the mountains give a bit of softness

Hi Vince
A good one across the valley and with a fast enough shutter speed to avoid blurring. Great view of the snow capped mountains.
cheers

Hello Vince,
Very attractive combination of the green valley and the white peaks of the mountain range.
The small elongated white clouds beautifully decorate the upper part of the photo.
Best regards, Paul
