Late last year we visited a friend who was recovering from surgery in the small town of Gunning (yet another new town for TE).
Her back yard was badly over grown and the old outdoor dunny (toilet) was getting ready to collapse. I can never resist such scenes.
The old tank no longer collected water from the shed roof due to broken pipes.
Tomorrow - the shed behind the dunny and its interior.

Hi Ian,
Well framed this old and almost abandoned part of the house, good quality for the sharpness and the colors contrast rendering, with rust tone and green vegetation, tfs.

Hi Ian
I see you took this photo with the Pentax K1...wow...you stepped up to the plate and got yourself a hot new camera!
I hear they're coming out with a new Flagship camera, the K3 Mark 3. Apparently it'll be even more expensive than the K1 Mark 2. I'm still using the K3, and I want to purchase the K3 mark 2 but its not available anymore at stores, i can't even find a place that'll sell it. Sigh. Anyways...you know i'm going to like this one, its got that abandonement feeling to it. But you say its at your friends house :)
fun shot, cool subjects. Are you liking the Mark 2?
cheers

Hello Ian,
I wouldn't like to do my things in that dunny, but I suppose there was a nicer alternative inside your friend's house. This may now be regarded as a cultural heritage. I like the contrasts of red and green.

Gert

Hi Ian
Nice framing of the old buildings surrounded by some lush vegetation, the overgrown parts add to the scene and splendid contrast to brown tones. And it all looks in good harmony...
Best regards

Ha! ha! Ian, it's so good that Craig is back for you know, without a doubt, that will be on his radar!
The neglect, the disrepair, the jungle effect, all make excellent features to capture on camera but, it has all been drawn together well, in your composition!
Have a good w/e,
Bev :-)

Hi Ian,
The tree and the vegetation are framing well the scene.. The point of view is showing the details of the ruins of the backhouse. The light is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Ian, this type of subject appeals to me.
Interesting collection of structures, with a variety of materials and textures.
The greenery surrounding the structures suggests many years of neglect.
Good observation.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hello Ian,
So here we find the toilet. Good you don't show us an interior picture of it.
Did your friend invite you to stay for a couple of days?
The fact that the garden was overgrown seems to me to be the smallest problem.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Ian,
Ha!Ha! You're a man with 'Dunny'.
I can't resist that either. No way, it's going to collapse. Never judge a book by its cover. Your friend is trying to scare you :-)
One thing for sure, ugliness can be beautiful .... as this picture shown. Interesting to see a ladder as decoration.
Tfs, Loong

Hello Ian
There is lot of antiquated soul in this backyard: For instance the tiny 'backhouse' and the ladder made of wood seen over the rusting shed constitute souvenirs of my great grandfather era!
By then those items would have been illustrated in black and white!
Fascinating mood.
Cheers
