Photographer's Note

Today's backroads town of Rankin Springs is even smaller with less than 300 people. Like the others it is a wheat/sheep town with a closed railway line. Passenger services stopped in 1974 and freight services stopped in 2004.
It has, however, in the the past been known for its springs but they started drying up and were closed in 1957. They now flow only after heavy rain.
This photo shows a "gallery" of junk art. There was no sign of it actually being open or whether it is just a chance for owner to display the "art". The building next to the gallery is an old shop now being used as a house.

Best in the large view.
