Photographer's Note

The Coromandel Peninsula is famous for its clean beaches and spectacular vistas.Snorkelling and diving are popular in the many marine reserves. The town of Hahei is the nearest township to the world famous Cathedral Cove, where I took this photo. Unfortunately, I did not explore its intricate underwater caves. It is mid Autumn and as you can see the sun is still shining and I saw many people swimming in the surprisingly warm waters.
I was struck by two things here, the precariously standing stack and the woman, who, although with a partner, looked alone and lost in her thoughts. She reminded me of my previous TE photo taken a world away in Turkey, of a man lost in his thoughts.
