Photographer's Note

I took this shot last Sunday, when I hiked up Mt. Kaukau with the sole purpose of getting some nice shots of the town where I live. It was around 4:30 pm and I think the light was pretty good. I was also lucky because when I got there, the ferry was just about to pull in. The ferry travels 3X a day to and from the South Island and it is a beautiful experience that I reccommend to everyone.
In the shot you can see the bay where the center of town is and also part of the harbour, on the left.
At the top left you can see a wild sea coastline rich in Maori and early European history. Thank you Murray for correcting me and pointing out that it is not Cape Palliser that we see but the southermost point of Wainuiomata.
