Photographer's Note

This shot was taken on another day trip from Christchurch in the van with my parents and the kids. But this one is much more ambitious because it was taken with my film SLR (no $ for digital yet!) and with a tripod. So there I am, driving this big van and I see all this breath-taking views. All this photo opportunities and I can only choose very feel of them, because as you all know it requires time to set up the gear. The others were quite supportive tough, including my 20 month old girl. She did not cry and waited patiently eating a box of raisins...
This shot shows Lyttelton, the port of Christchurch. As the major deep-water port in the South Island, the port plays a vital role in the global transport network, offering a full range of regular worldwide shipping services.
The shot was taken at the Summit Rd, a must-do drive to anyone going to Christchurch. If you don't have a car and nomoney torent one just walk up.And don't forget your tripod!
The photo was scanned by the shabiest scanner ever so I had to spend a good while on the Photoshop and Neat Image to get closer to the original slide.
