Photographer's Note
Had I not spotted this tree with moss from the road as we went past, did a U turn, we would have missed this great spot. Lake Poerua is a shallow lake located in the West Coast region of New Zealand's South Island roughly 13 km southeast from Lake Brunner. A number of small streams flow into the lake, and the Poerua River flows from the lake into the Crooked River, which leads to Lake Brunner. The lake is just to the north of the settlement of Inchbonnie, and Lake Brunner Road (linking State Highways 7 and 73) and the Midland Line railway runs along the eastern shore of the lake. This is only 15 mins to Jackson Hotel (Best Pies)for a well deserved feed and drink.
PS The polarizer has picked up the logs under the water making an interesting foreground.

Hello Mike,
Isn't it great when you discover a beautiful scene just by keeping your eyes peeled.
Nicely composed, although I'd liked to have seen a bit more of the tree on camera right to give more of a discovery effect. Just to make more of looking past and through the foreground to let the view unfold before us.
You were blessed by superb weather, the mirror like surface on the lake looks wonderful. I like the way the view extends to the far off hills and the blue sky.
Nicely spotted, well done.
Cheers
Peter
