Photographer's Note

Sunset at lake marian on a very wet day.

I left Te Anau at 3.30pm and headed up the milford road. the weather was crap but i didnt care, i wanted to catch the sunset up at lake marian...(or anyrthing, and to get up there as i hadnt been there before).

What can i say?:
after the near 2 hour walk up through dripping trees i was surprised at how big and open this place is. Also, about how much mist was here then 5 min later all gone!(you would need a very wide lens to capture everything in here)!
The lake appeared to be very low, like i was walking down into a crater!
There wasnt much of an orange sunset i was expecting there to be... but to me this is just as good if not better.
After i took this shot i proceeded to go for a swim... just kidding it was freezing up here!
The walk/run back was fast and required a torch.
