Photographer's Note
A view of the highest mountain in New Zealand, Mt Cook (3724 metres high) seen from near the road to Mt Cook. The morning was clear and the glacier-clad mountains were glistening in the sunlight. The pointy peak on the left is Mt La Perouse (3078 m), and the high point on the right is Mt Haidinger (3070 m). Two lenticular clouds lie above Mt Cook - these tend to form over large pointed mountains. In the foreground are some introduced pink roses which have become a weed in this area.

Hi Ian
NZ is really much like Europe in miniature. This could easily be mistaken for the Swiss Alps, the Austrian Tyrol or even the Carpathians, or Tatras Mts. I've been there but you had better weather. Tfs!

Hello Vincent, a super sharp shot of the mountains, they look magnificent with their covering of snow.
The green in the foreground makes a good contrast with the blues of the upper part of the composition.
Thank you for explaining about the lenticular clouds.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hello Vincent,
My son did a round the world trip, after finishing university, before taking up a permanent job, and thought NewZealand the most beautiful, exciting land that he visited!
I think your photograph explains what he saw and why he was so positive about the country.
The green f/g, with wild roses, makes a fine preliminary before studying the spectacular scenery of the snow covered mountains.
It’s a lovely composition and a fine exposure.
My warm regards,
Bev 😊

Hi Vincent,
what a beautiful mountain panorama. I like very much the contrast of the blooming pants in the foreground and the snow covered peaks in the distance. These are like two different worlds.
Beautiful light and colors. Very impressive outcome.
Excellent quality,

Hello Vincent,
Fantastic panorama New Zealand's mountains with highest peak Mt. Cook. In the valley there is a beautiful summer with blooming flowers and the peaks still covered with last year's snow.
Wonderful mountains picture with great quality.
Best regards,
Zbigniew
