Photographer's Note
It's actually a Pier that still use for berthing some ferries to Petone beach in Wellington Harbor. Some people also use the site for fishing.

Nice management of the colors of the sunset. Nice to see that the bottom of the pier is not totally dark.

Hello AiMartin,
Welcome to Trek Earth, and what an effective first image you have selected for posting. The panoramic feel generated by the black border is very special, like a postcard. The filter has provided some very interesting tones, the atmosphere is almost volcanic. Sharpness is exceptional, as is the symmetry and deep depth of field (DOF). Background details are good also. I look forward to more of your photos, you seem to possess a great deal of talent.

Hi AiMartin,
Firstly welcome to TE.
This is an eye-catching image which has an abstract feel to it, and powerful POV from under the pier. You have obviously used quite a bit of post-processing and have pushed the saturation to a large degree.....but I like the effect. The old wooden beams of the pier, at the top of the image, seem to draw my eyes down into the frame, and the sun-reflected, wet beach sand has created a textured effect which has added good interest to the bottom half of the photo. Well captured.
Cheers Grant

Really nice shot. The color and contrast make for a very dramatic effect. Welcome to TE!
