Photographer's Note

Atop the cliff in the fg is a white ibis. They are common throughout the city and forage in the botanical gardens and city parks. In the bg is the city of Brisbane.

Hello Chris,
The ibis is a very small detail in this photo, but it's well placed in the foreground and a good excuse for an amusing title. More importantly this is a fine view of the city with all these skyscrapers, the river with lots of small boats and the green belts along the water. The photo is well arranged in sections along diagonals and it's very well exposed.

You chose a very well angle about the river with city in background.
The Ibis sit on a nice place with sight on the river and maybe a fish to food.

Hello Chris,
When I first read the title I thought you had booked a room in a hotel of the Ibis chain.
It was a pleasant surprise when I saw the bird in the foreground.
The Botanic Gardens are a perfect place to photograph the Brisbane skyline.
Beautiful are also the many boats in the river.

Hello Chris, beautiful contrast of looking wild on the right side of the river and downtown high buildings on the left side.

Not an IBIS hotel! A good photo along the Brisbane River with the "bin chicken" in the foreground (do you call them that in Brisbane?).

The bird is an interesting feature; it will need to get down to the water to catch its food I think?

Finally a photo from your town, Chris.
A modern city built along the estuary of Brisbane river.
Fine view upstream from atop the rock. Modrern towers and yachts evident of good life there.

Hi Chris,
The bird clearly enjoys the beautiful panoramic view of Brisbane. There is a hotel chain in Europe called IBIS hotels so judging from the title I thought you show a view from a hotel window.
Very impressive contrast of the modern architecture with very natural foreground,
