Photographer's Note

This old, now abandoned shearing complex is not far from the main high country town of Cooma near the Snowy Mountains.
The large building on the left is the shearing shed, built from corrugated iron - it is classic Australia shearing shed architecture. To the right is a group of buildings that would have been accommodation for the shearers who travelled from shed to shed during the shearing season. The larger of the 3 buildings would have been the bedrooms and the other large building would have housed the kitchen and eating area. The smallest building was possibly for the cook as they were often provided separate accommodation.
See the large version for more detail.
