This is the photo that I meant to upload a couple of hours ago. That one was taken as our little elctric powered boat entered Cobbold Gorge when there was no crocodile to be seen.
Here is the photo taken as we were leaving the gorge - the one with the fresh water crocodile (Crocodylus johnstoni) resting on the rock. We drifted within 2 metres of the cocodile. It was a big male - getting up towards 3 metres which is as big as they get. They can give you a nasty bite if cornered but their jaws aren't big enough to kill people. Cobbold Gorge is about 500km up river from the coast so a bit far for the more dangerous "salties".
Looks more spectactular in the viewed as the larger version.
