Photographer's Note
Some images scream at the photographer, “Take my picture now!” This tree in the Pilbara Region of north west of Western Australia did that for me. The burned-out trunk looks a little like a woman's shape and gave me the impression that it had given birth to the new white growth from it.
“Black Mother, White Child.” - The Australian population was of the black aboriginal before the white man came, but now Australia is recognised as a white nation by the world.
Located along the Fortesque River is the tropical oasis of Millstream Chichester National Park. Huge trees, ferns, lilies, rushes and a wide variety of birds and flying foxes make Millstream one of the most pleasant stopovers in the North West. Camp overnight at some of the best campsites around like Deep Pool and Crossing Pool. Climb to the peak of Mount Herbert for amazing views of the coastal plains and visit the Historic Millstream Homestead.
