Photographer's Note

This bold red and white striped landmark has become something of a Geraldton icon. The recently repainted structure is the only one of its kind in WESTERN AUSTRALIA.

The Point Moore Lighthouse is a cast iron, prefabricated, segmented tower; approximately 6 metres in diameter, 29 metres high to the base of the lantern, 34 metres in total. The tower is painted in red and white bands, each two segments high except for the bottom red band which is four high. It is an excellent example of British, industrialised prefabricated building from the mid-late 19th Century.
