Photographer's Note

The longest wooden jetty in the southern hemisphere sits some 3 hours south of Perth, W.A. Constructed towards the middle of the 18th century to supply boats with locally forested timber in deeper water 2km out from shore, the pier was rendered redundant in 1972 upon notice of the port's closure. It has since been damaged by fires and inclement weather, only to be restored by an active community determined to keep the pier alive for visitors passing en route to the Margaret River. The pier's novelty train ride running outward to sea is a big favourite with children!

Level adjusted, cropped and unsharp mask applied.

Any comments, suggestions, workshop improvements, etc, most welcome.
