Photographer's Note
actually it's a granite boulder. Taken at Two Peoples Bay east of Albany. Very simple beach scenery, realistically Australia does not have a complicated topography, but the beaches are really nice. The strange orange colour patches are because of lichen, this is often seen on granite boulders along the southern beaches of the continent. This rock is probably about 5 metres (15ft.) high.

Merci de nous avoir montré cette curiosité. On dirait un OVNI...Merci de nous avoir indiqué la hauteur car je ne pensais que cela était beaucoup plus petit.
J'aime aussi la luminosité de l'ensemble. Bravo !

Hi Tan. That's a shame it's not a buried skull because I think that makes for a much more interesting note. :) But the rock seems huge and of course the saturation is hard to resist. The placement of the horizon is well done. Good work Tan!!

Hello Tan !
This really an interesting shot. It took me some time to realize the size of the rock. ( I did not read the note first ). I tought first you had your camera on a tripod on the sand with a macro on a small rock.....
Very nice illusion and capture. the waves are giving a hint on the size of the rock.
Beautifull colors and contrasts as usual. Well done. Congratulations,
Roebrt

Hi Tan,
This boulder is just incredible! How did it get there? Are there granite mountains around the beach? (sorry for the stupid questions, but I've never been to Australia, not yet). ;o)
Colors are wonderful, like in all your shots and the compo is great. Good thing you mentionned the height of this rock in your note because I find it hard to imagine the size of it!
Have a nice week-end.

Beautiful shot Tan - the sky was really kind to bring such an interesting cloud formation - what colours - turquoise and dark blue sea and this fantastic orange!
The question as to how the boulder got there is a really interesting one - any ideas?......I just see you answered already!
best wishes Kev

Hi Tan. This composition is simple, but... Simply great ! The foreground rock is nice and presents sharp and beautiful granitic texture. One more time you were there when the sky decided to be particularly scenic, lucky you ! :o)
Thanks for sharing this piece of paradize !

Hi Tan, I love the fabulous colours. This reminds me of the Remarkable Rocks on Kangaroo Island. This boulder is not as weirdly shaped yet its smooth curves makes it blend with the landscape better. You have an incredible sky as usual!
