Photographer's Note

Both photos are best viewed in the large version for better detail.

As promised yesterday here are rock art photos from one of Australia's most famous rock art galleries, under overhangs at Nourlangie Rock in Kakadu NP.
I was going to post the workshop photo as the main one but Malgo posted one of the same work yesterday so I've posted this one as the main one and my version of the one that Malgo posted as the workshop.
Both photos are from the main gallery which is, not surprisingly World Heritage listed. The gallery has been used for 20,000 years to record life in the area. The main features that you see aren't that old as the Aboriginals of the area tended to up date and paint over older works. You can see signs of faded older work under the more recent.
The painting in the workshop is one of the most photographed rock art works in Australia.
Maintenance of these painting is strictly by local Aboriginals.
If you want to find out more do a search for "Nourlangie Rock Art".
