Photographer's Note

Please look at these 3 photos in the large view for much more detail.

Kakadu National Park has extensive flood plains and these hold quite a bit of water into the dry season. The wet season usually ends in about March but can last longer. On our visit rain had continued a bit later so there was plenty of water about although one problem with the late wet season was that we couldn't go to the spectacular waterfalls because they were still checking for crocodiles.
These 3 photos were taken during an open door helicopter ride (1 - 1 1/2 hours I think). It was my first photography helicopter ride and I started with my shutter speed at about 1/500 sec but had to increase that considerably as we went for better clarity.
Enjoy this and the other 2 workshop panoramic photos of what was absolutely spectacular scenery.
