Crimson Rosella, a photo from Victoria, East

Photographer's Note

Dandenong national park, about an hour east of Melbourne, is home to a lot of widelife, including Crimson Rosellas. Here is one making a meal of the tender young leaves of a tree fern.

The park is centred around Mt Dandenong and the rainforest which covers it.

Although it was a sunny day, beneath the Mountain Ash it was very shady, hence the wide open apperture.

Good capture of the bird in it's native environment, the green certainly sets off its red plumage.

This is a great capture of the rosella. Ive always liked these birds, for their colors and friendly nature. Beautifully framed with the greeness all around.

Hello Steve, Nice clear & sharp shot of this Rosella, They are a beautiful bird & in abundance in the nearby hills in the cooler weather. A good capture in it's natural surroundings.

stephen, you've aced this! I don't know why, but photographing these birds is always hard! It could be where they live or even their colour - but I struggle with them ever time - you've done a great job here congrats!
