Photographer's Note
Melbourne had some heavy rains at the end of the last year, and Yarra River was flooded. Normally these falls are not a typical habitat of carp, but we think that these were washed down from up the stream, and were trying to get back by attemptimg to jump up the falls. They were there for a couple of days, and I managed to take a couple of shots by sitting tight and still, slowly roasting in the summer sun. :) For the record, this is Dights Falls.

La photo de l'eau est très bonne, les couleurs sont très bonnes, le reflet du jaune vers le blanc me plais bien .
En revanche le pecheur que je suis à du mal à croire qu'une carpe puisse essayer de passer les rochers !

Great capture, Dmitri. I mean, on film (or should I say, on digital???).
It must have been hard to make the picture, specially because this guys are so fast when they jump out of the water. One needs lots of patiente. Congratulations, it's a wonderful nature pic.

A spectacular freezing of the falling water and the leaping carp.
But I must say I have never seen a carp trying to imitate a salmon...carp usually are content remaining along the riverbed sucking up whatever they can find. So this is surely a very rare capture of a leaping carp:-)

Great "catch", Dmitri! Not easy, but very nicely succeeded. Good composition, sharp and the motion of the water is very good. I look forward to seeing your next one.
