Photographer's Note

Australian's aren't big strawberry eaters. On average we consume between three to four punnets each a year. In America it's 16 and in some parts of Scandinavia it's 28! The Australian strawberry industry is worth up to $150 million dollars each year, and produces an estimated 20,000 tonnes or 80 million punnets of strawberries each year.

Almost half of that production comes from Queensland in winter and spring and the rest from the southern states and WA during the summer and autumn period - providing a year round supply of strawberries and little competition for Queensland during it's season.

Australia exports strawberrys to Japan, Korea, South East Asia and the Middle East.
