Been away for a few days on the coast with constant rain! This photo was not taken on this trip.

My previous posting was of Wollongong harbour and 2 lighthouses. Here is the large one, built in 1938, close up.
In front of the lighthouse are these old cannons which were installed in 1880 to protect against a feared Russian attack. Unfortunately the cannons were already obsolete and by 1890 had been replaced by a much more modern gun. The Russians never arrived and the cannons were never fired in anger (if at all!).
