Photographer's Note
Tallimba is another small old wheat/sheep and railway town that is now without the railway. Population about 300. The loss of the railway, population decline and improved road access to larger towns has meant the closure of shops, such as this one showing textures and colours that come with abandoned corrugated iron buildings.
Strangely the town still has a police station, probably looking after neighbouring similar towns as well.
Best in the large view.

Hello Ian,
A good shot of this old and abandoned shop. I like the warm colours, which are brought out well by the sunlight too and contrast nicely with the blue sky. Especially the rusty tones are appealing.

Hello Ian,
Possibly these photos from the half abandoned back road towns could fill a book, or at least the walls of a gallery. I think rusty façades like this, with some irregular features and nicely faded paint, will attract a lot of people. And if the tide can't be changed, pretty soon these places will be even more abandoned and the decay will go beyond the picturesque and charming, so these photos will remain an important document.
Regards,
Gert

Hello Ian,
Now, that's what fits into my imagination how a building in the Outback should look like. :) Joking apart, a nice piece of your series.
Best Wishes,

J'apprécie beaucoup vos présentations et vos notes d'accompagnement à propos de ces lieux pratiquement abandonnés.
Je vais de découverte en découverte. Je voyage d'une bien belle façon.

hello Ian, Another small town and another fantastic composition. It reminds me of a street somewhere in New Zealand with abandoned shops. Charming view.

Hello Ian,
You must have the greatest collection of photographs of abandoned places in the whole of Australia. It is sobering to learn just how many small towns have closed down. In a country as big as Australia, there can be massive distances between places, the sort of experience that we don't have in the U.K. If a village becomes desolate in our country, the residents won't have too far to locate, though they will still be sad!
The details of neglect emphasise the abandonment.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

A very good reportage photo, the shop is abandoned but I can see the neighboring building is inhabited and well maintained, well captured

Hi Ian
oh man, you need to take me to these places! Show me around!
I love these subjects, all dirty, abandoned, yet the buildings look to be pretty good condition wise - considering. awesome in this light, and we can really see the rust or wear. cheers

Good evening Ian,
An interesting shot, I like the architecture of it trough the iron sheeting of the house. Furthermore the rusty parts of the building are giving contrast and shape to the whole picture. TSF
Best regards,
Serge
