Photographer's Note

Typically, rain ruins a day of photography. Typically, it doesn't rain in Sydney in the winter. But luckily for me, when the rain cleared just before sunset during my vacation in Sydney, I noticed a rainbow (if you look closely, there are actually two) forming as I boarded a ferry. I positioned myself on the starboard side, crouched down to stabilize myself as the boat rocked along the water, and waited for the Sydney Opera House to be centered directly under the rainbow. Click, capture, magic. My favorite part of this photo is the color of the skies, which provided plenty of great photos once I got back on dry land.
